According to Google’s Apps Status Dashboard, approximately 1.03% of Gmail users received a 502 error when attempting to log in to Gmail between 2:33 AM and 3:22 AM today, Monday, June 17, 2013. It is possible that some Ryerson users may have been affected by this Gmail service disruption.

A data replication issue with the Central Authentication System (CAS) caused intermittent login problems starting at approximately 9:33 AM. CAS services were restarted and full services were restored at 9:42 AM. We are continuing to investigate this issue.

A configuration error in a network switch caused a network outage for some parts of the YDI building on Friday June 14, 2013 between 8:05 and 8:55 AM.

The Signaling Server for VoIP phones stopped working on Friday June 7, 2013 at 7:07 AM and had to be rebooted. The outage impacted all of the VoIP phones on campus. Service was restored at 8:50 AM

At around 10:00 am this morning, we found that several compromised accounts sent tens of thousands of messages into our system, slowing down mail delivery on two of the three mail servers. The compromised accounts have been disabled. We are cleaning up the message queues and expect normal mail delivery to resume by 2 PM.

CCS received reports of some users not being able to access RAMSS this morning around 8 AM. Upon investigation, it was identified that one of the application servers was not responding properly. This started at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesday evening. The server had been down for scheduled maintenance but a process on the server was not working properly after it was brought back up. This server has been shut down for investigation. Access to RAMSS for the impacted users was restored at approximately 9:00 am this morning. We are continuing to investigate.
Update 10:37 AM: The application server has be rebooted and is back to service as of 9:54 AM.

The CCS Help Desk received reports from a few external users indicating that they are experiencing problems connecting to my.ryerson.ca. These reports started at 5:05 PM. Access to my.ryerson.ca within Ryerson is working as expected. A preliminary investigation indicated that the problem was with an external ISP (Internet Server Provider) outside of Ryerson. Services resumed at 5:35 PM.

An RMS application server became unresponsive at approximately 11:44 AM this morning. It was restarted and back in service at 11:54 AM. During the outage, the following services were not available: RMS Administration, Account Activation and Self Service.
The cause of the problem is being investigated.

On Friday, May 30, 2013, between 6 am and 8 am, CCS was performing scheduled maintenance on storage devices which impacted the my.ryerson portal and all applications accessed through the my.ryerson portal, CAS and all CAS-fied applications, RMS administration and account activation. Unfortunately, it took longer to complete this change. All systems were up and running by 8:26 am on Friday morning.
