On Thursday, February 6, 2014 between 6:15 am and 6:45 am, CCS will perform necessary system maintenance on Ryerson’s Central Authentication Service (CAS) that controls the login process to my.ryerson.ca, Google Apps at Ryerson, and other services. CAS users may experience intermittent access issues.

On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 00:04 AM the network switch servicing the academic labs at KHW-071 and some of the management subnets became unresponsive. The switch recovered on its own at 2:17 AM.

The back-end server that all RMS web applications (Admin, Self Service and Activation) connect to became unresponsive starting at 11:00 AM this morning. The application services were restarted and full services were restored around noon. We continue to investigate the cause. RMS is the system that makes possible account activation at http://www.ryerson.ca/accounts/ and provides the password change, Google Token setup and other features via “manage my online resources” inside the my.ryerson.ca portal.

On Friday, January 31, 2014, the installation of new code on the www.ryerson.ca server at approximately 7:30 AM, caused 4 sites to not load correctly.

The code was rolled back and service restored at approximately 10:45 AM

On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 6:41 PM a portion of a network switch servicing 20 connections at the 2nd floor POD building failed. The switch had to be replaced and services were resumed on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:50 AM.

On Friday, January 24, 2014 starting at approximately 2:00 PM the Ryerson Gmail service became unavailable. This service disruption only applies to Gmail and appears to affect the consumer Gmail as well.
CCS is attempting to contact Google support and will update this post as soon as more information becomes available.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 between 8:30 AM and 9:45 AM the external voice mail greeting pre-prompt recording has been over-written by one of the phone administrators’ own greetings. The prompt has been restored back to the default one at 9:45 AM.

On Sunday, January 19th 2014, around 4 PM, one of the licensing servers stopped responding, affecting the use of the following applications:
Services were restored this morning at 8 AM for all applications, except the Fashion Studio application. We are working with the vendor to restore this service ASAP.
