Jabber phone client outage on Friday October 20, 2023

On October 20, 2023, the CCS telecom team received alerts that users of the Jabber; phone system client; were unable to login. The telecom team is working with the vendor to investigate and will keep you updated.

Update at 9:30

Problem resolved and users are now able to login with thier torontomu.ca credentials. Users who are using ryerson.ca credentials will not be able to login, and they have to click reset Jabber and use their torontomu.ca credentials instead

Incoming Mail Disruption, Thursday Sept. 28th, 2023, 6:23 am – 9:45 am

Due to an error in one of our threat intelligence feeds, incoming mails were not delivered this morning starting at 6:39am.  This issue has been fixed at 9:45 am. We are following up with the vendor.  Emails that were received during this time will be delivered within an hour. New emails will not be delayed.

Network interruption at the West side of campus on Wednesday September 13, 2023

The Network Engineering team noticed an unusual high CPU utilization on the manin network switches servicing the West side of the campus. Users may notice slow and/or intermittent network access while the issue is being investigated.

Phones: Jabber client outage on Monday September 11, 2023

On Monday September 11, 2023, the Jabber client for the phone system stopped working, preventing the users from logging in. The telecom team is working with the vendor to resolve the issue.

Update at 10:55

The issue was traced to an expired digital certificate. A new certificate was deployed and services resumed

my.torotomu service disruption for some users: June 23rd, 2023, 6 am – June 27th, 2023, to 2 pm

Starting at approximately 6 am, Friday, June 23rd, 2023, some people discovered that tabs were missing in the my.torontomu.ca portal such as the MyServiceHub and courses tabs. The issue was due to a bug that was introduced during maintenance work on the portal and it was fixed at around 2 pm, Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.

VPN access interruption on Sunday May 28 between 11:17 AM & 4:50 PM

On Sunday May 28, 2023, at 11:17 AM CCS received reports that VPN users are unable to access some resources. IT security determined that the issue was limited to resources that are dependent on the userid. The issue was resolved at 4:50 PM.

Call Centres outage on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 7:00 AM

On Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 7:00 AM, CCS noticed that all call centres agents (CCS helpsesk, service hub) are unable to login to their call centre application to receive calls from staff & students. This is due to a security certificate that was updated this morning for RUAD. The telecom team is looking at the issue

A new security certificate applied into the call centres servers and the services resumed

Phone sets outage on May 10, 2023 from 12:55 to 1:25 AM

On Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 12:55 AM, campus security noticed that all phone sets on campus were not able to make or receive calls. The problem disappeared at 1:25 AM and all phones started to work normally.

Academic printing outage: Wednesday, May 3, 2023 1:30 PM – 2:05 PM

Printing to CCS managed academic lab printers, including those in the Library Commons (LIB272), TRS and KHW71 was reported down at approximately 1:30 PM.   The cause of the problem was traced to a backend process that had stopped working properly.   The printing issue was resolved around 2:05 PM.

Phone system is down on April 26, 2023 at 17:45 PM

On Wednesday April 25, 2023 at 5:45 PM, TMU’s phone system became unavailable. The telecom team is investigating the issue.

Network traffic re-roted to solve the issue. Services resumed at 7:20 PM
