On Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at about 10:22 A.M. the www.ryerson.ca website became unavailable. Services were restored at about 10:35 A.M.

CCS is investigating the root cause of the problem.

Network interruption on Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 2:52 to 3:20 PM

On Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 2:52 PM, a network device failed to handle the traffic going though it. This prevented access to many of Ryerson’s servers such as my.ryerson.ca and www.ryerson.ca. Services resumed at 3:20 PM.

Network outage at SMH building on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 9:50 AM

On Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 9:50 PM, CCS received alerts that the network at SMH building is down. Network Services team is investigating the issue.

Update:

Power loss was the cause of the outage, Network Services rebooted the Power Supply and services resumed at 10:25 AM

WiFi interruption on Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 5 AM to 9 AM

On Tuesday July 18, 2017 at 5:00 AM, many wireless access points in the East side of the campus went offline. This had little to no impact on WiFi access as there were many other wireless access points in these areas to cover the light load at that time. These wireless access point were brought up by 9:00 AM.

Access to Ryerson systems interrupted on Friday July 14, 2017 from 3:50 to 3:58 PM

On Friday July 14, 2017 at 3:50 PM a mis-classification to certain network traffic prevented new connections to Ryerson’s systems such as my.ryerson.ca. The issue was rectified at 3:58 PM and services resumed.

www.ryerson.ca outage – Sunday, July 2, 2017 8 PM

On Sunday, July 2, 2017 the www.ryerson.ca website became unavailable at approximately 8 PM.

Technical staff investigated the problem and restored services  at approximately 00:28 AM on July 3.

Network outages in Oakham, ILLC and SCC: Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 3:20 AM

RAMSS inaccessible remotely: Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 9:42 AM

Remote access to RAMSS was not possible from approximately 9:30 AM to 9:42 AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 due to a Domain Name Service (DNS) problem.  Users were getting a “Server cannot be reached at this time” error message.

OfficeLinx Voicemail outage on Friday June 16, 2017 at 7:00 AM

On Friday June 16, 2017 at 7:00 AM CCS noticed that users on the new SIP voice mail system (OfficeLinx) couldn’t access their voice mail. Telecom group is working with the vendor to troubleshoot the issue.

Update:

At 10:45 AM the voicemail servers were rebooted and services resumed

my.ryerson, CAS and Jira service outage: Friday, June 16 2017 06:30 AM

Starting around 6:30 AM, on Friday, June 16 2017, access to my.ryerson and CAS started failing for some users. Jira is also inaccessible. CCS technical administrators are currently investigating the problem.

Update: All services were restored around 9 AM, except for Jira that became available around 9:35 AM.
