Google Drive service disruption on Thur., July 12, 2018

Google Docs/Sheets/Slides service disruption on Wed., July 11, 2018

Google is reporting a service issue with Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, starting at 12:36 PM today. CCS also received reports from some of our users that Google Docs was not available. The latest Google Status information is available at:

Inbound internet outage on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 07:54 AM to 09:40 AM

An unexpected network issue arose during a scheduled upgrade and reconfiguration of Ryerson’s border firewalls, starting this morning at 7:54 AM.  As a result of the change, inbound traffic for some departmental academic and admin networks was not properly routed. The root cause was identified and rectified at 09:40 AM.

Windows & wireless authentication outage on Wednesday, May 16 2018 8:58 AM

On Wednesday May 16, 2018 around 8:58 AM, a server problem caused new authentication requests from Windows clients to fail or be very slow.    The wireless (WiFi) access was disabled temporarily to assist with the troubleshooting but has been re-enabled.  Services are returning to normal around 10 AM and we will continue to investigate the issue.

Update: Full services were restored around 9:55 AM.

Network interruption at YDI building on Thursday May 10, 2018 between 4:40 and 5:00 PM

On Thursday May 10, 2018 at 4:40 PM, a network glitch caused an outage for YDI building.  Network Services team fixed the issue and services resumed at 5:00 PM.

D2L Brightspace was briefly unavailable – Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 11:40 AM

The Brightspace Learning Management system hosted by D2L for  Ryerson was briefly unavailable today April 24, 2018

The service interruption was first reported at about 11: 40 AM and was resolved about 11:45 AM

We are working with D2L to determine what caused this service interruption.

We sincerely apologize for the impact this disruption may have caused.

Academic printing and POS outage on Friday, April 6, 2018 2:45 PM

An unresponsive application process caused academic student printing and Point of Sale (POS) services to be unavailable, starting around 2:45 PM on Friday, April 6, 2018.   The application was restarted and services were restored at 3:06 PM.   CCS is investigating the root cause of the problem.

Network outage at KHW71 labs on Monday March 26, 2018 from 1 to 8 AM

On Monday March 26, 2018 at 1:00 AM, a malfunctioning  network switch caused a network outage for KHW71 labs.  Network Services team fixed the issue and services resumed at 8:00 AM.

Network outage at West side of campus on Wednesday March 14, 2018 between 6:08 and 6:50 PM

On Wednesday March 14, 2018 at 6:08 PM, a malfunction in a network distribution switch caused a total network outage for the buildings on the West side of the campus. Network Services team routed the traffic through a redundant network switch and services resumed at 6:50 PM.

The network services team is continuing their investigation and testing other locations within campus that might be impacted

Update:

Issues were noticed in other buildings such as CE & VIC. A core network switch was rebooted and services resumed at 8:45 PM
