Intermittent issues accessing D2L on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 3:34 p.m

On Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 3:34 p.m. the D2L Network Operations Center (NOC) have identified an intermittent DNS issue affecting *.desire2learn.com domains. Users may experience intermittent issues accessing the Learning Environment. Our vendor suggests that users refresh their browsers if they encounter connectivity errors.

Computing and Communications Services also received reports that the emails sent by instructors to their students via their D2L course do not reach students.

We will provide updates when they become available.

Update: February 10, 2017 at 4:14.

According to the report from D2L, most users regained access as DNS changes were automatically updated throughout the internet over the course of several hours. As of 12 PM today, a very limited number of users on disparate ISPs may still be experiencing issues.

Here’s a set of detailed instructions that will allow users still blocked from Brightspace to flush their computer’s DNS cache.

CCS support team tested sending emails and accessing other D2L systems, and the system is functioning properly.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
