Access to Major Systems Caused by Data Centre Firewall Problem – July 3, 2011 – 2:39 pm

At 1:45 pm, July 3, 2011, access to major systems including R-Mail and my.ryerson.ca was interrupted due to a problem with a redundant link on the firewall cluster that protects those systems.

The problem was resolved @ 2:53 pm. Access to all systems has been restored.

After 3:30 pm problems with the firewall cluster resurfaced. CCS staff are working to restore the system.

We apologize for the interruption to services.

I am looking to log into my RAMMS account as I am participating in a distance education class and every time I go to log in it says. “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable.” I have been trying since this afternoon- it says it the alert that the problem has been solved. Yet i still cant log in.

  4. Brian Lesser says:

Right now my.ryerson.ca is available. So you should be able to log in. However, we are still working on the firewall cluster. I’ll post an update when we are more certain of its status.

  5. Brian Lesser says:

The team working on the firewalls think they have stabilized things. You should be able to access everything now. We’ll post a new update once we’re more certain things are OK.
