This morning (Saturday Aug. 30, 2014) CCS began receiving reports that people could not access their Ryerson Gmail and Google Apps accounts from some mobile devices. While we investigate the problem, if your mobile device reports it can no longer access your Ryerson Gmail or Google Apps account because your password is incorrect, you can fix the problem by getting a new Google Token, and entering it as a password in your mobile device. Instructions for doing so are here:
http://www.ryerson.ca/google/usingapps/googletoken.html
We will update this service alert when more information becomes available.
Update 11:06 AM: It appears that re-entering your existing Google Token will also fix the problem. If you know your existing Google Token we recommend you use it instead of generating a new one.
Update 11:33 AM: Google Enterprise Support reports that the problem appears to be limited to Android devices and that they are working on a solution that will not require re-entering your Google Token.
Update 2:48 PM: Google reports they resolved the problem some time yesterday (Sunday Aug. 31) but we do not have a time.

Problem still exists at this time.
Curious what the cause is.
There has been some speculation that it has to do with a Gmail client update on Android but we really don’t know. We do know that the problem is on Google’s side of things and they are working on a fix.
If you don’t want to wait for Google you can re-enter your current Google Token, if you have it, or reset it following the instructions above.
I’m sorry this is taking so long!
It’s not limited only to Android devices. The same problem on iPad.
Thanks Michael,
I’ll let our staff know. Did you try putting in a Google Token, and did it work for you?
Hi Michael,
We have tried to reproduce the problem on iPads but could not. Please let me know if resetting your Google Token works:

i also cannot log into blackboard. it says my login is incorrect. (as well as my gmail)
From the comment it looks like you can’t log in at all to my.ryerson.ca or gmail. The my.ryerson.ca login is not affected by the Google mobile problem on Android phones.
We may need to reset your password for you. The easiest way to arrange that is to visit the Kerr Hall West 71 computer lab area and ask a lab adviser for assistance when they are open.
When you log into my.ryerson.ca you should use your user name and the password you chose when you setup your Ryerson account. (Not your Google Token.)
I’ve emailed our help desk who may have other suggestions.
Yours truly,
-Brian
Hi,
In my phone (android), the problem still exists. Has the problem been solved?
Thanks
Ranjita
Sorry – no news and I don’t think we will hear anything from Google before Tuesday.
However, resetting your Google Token should work:
http://www.ryerson.ca/google/usingapps/googletoken.html
Google now reports the problem was resolved sometime on Sunday but they did not say when. If the problem persists we recommend you reset your Google Token.
Waiting for a fix too – will check back tomorrow! Thanks!
Its working now.
