Email Delivery Failure for some users to certain domains: Friday July 4, 2014

CCS has received reports from users that they received email delivery failure notices for email recipients from certain domains. After further investigation, we discovered that one of our email servers was blacklisted by some of the email reputation services such as senderbase (http://www.senderbase.org/) and spamcop (http://www.spamcop.net/). The blacklisting was due to spam messages sent from compromised Ryerson email accounts. The compromised accounts have been disabled. We have contacted the email reputation services and requested that the affected email server be removed from the blacklist. Spamcop has done so and we expect that senderbase will clear us soon.

We continue to monitor the situation. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Update

Senderbase has cleared the affected mail server today, Tuesday July 8, 2014
